Welcome to SavEat! 🥕

These Terms explain how SavEat works and what you can expect from us — and what we expect from you. By using SavEat, you agree to these Terms. We've tried to keep them simple and human. If something isn't clear, just email us at hello@saveat.lu.

1. Who we are

SavEat (saveat.lu) is a food rescue app based in Luxembourg. We connect local restaurants, bakeries, and stores with people who want to grab great food at reduced prices — instead of letting it go to waste.

2. Who can use SavEat

You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account. You'll need a valid payment method to make reservations. You're responsible for keeping your account details safe — don't share your password with anyone.

3. How it works

Browse available food listings from local providers near you. Reserve a bag or item you like — payment is taken immediately. You'll get a QR code to show when you collect your order. Head to the provider during the pickup window and show your QR code. That's it — enjoy your food and feel good about reducing waste!

4. Pickup & collection

Every listing has a pickup window — a specific time slot to collect your order. Please collect within that window. If you miss it, your order is forfeited and no refund will be issued. We know life happens, but providers rely on knowing their food has been collected.

5. Refunds & cancellations

Because food is time-sensitive, all sales are final once payment is made. You will receive a full automatic refund if the provider cancels your reservation. You will not receive a refund if you miss your pickup window (no-show). If you have an issue with your order, contact us at hello@saveat.lu and we'll do our best to help.

6. What's in the bag?

Some listings are "surprise bags" — the exact contents aren't specified in advance. That's part of the fun! Providers describe what type of food is included (e.g. "bakery items" or "mixed meals") but the specific items may vary. If you have serious food allergies, please check with the provider directly before reserving.

7. Pricing & discounts

All listings on SavEat are priced at least 50% below the original retail value — so you're always getting a great deal. Prices are set by the food provider. The price you see is the price you pay — no hidden fees.

8. Ratings & reviews

After collecting your order you can rate the provider (1-5 stars) and leave a review. Your ratings help other users and help providers improve. Please keep reviews honest and respectful. SavEat may remove reviews that are offensive or misleading.

9. Your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We'll process any pending activity and confirm deletion by email. Please don't create fake accounts or use SavEat for anything other than its intended purpose.

10. Our responsibility

SavEat is a marketplace — we connect you with food providers but we don't prepare or handle the food ourselves. Food providers are responsible for food safety and quality. If you have a food safety concern, please contact us immediately at hello@saveat.lu and we will investigate. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order in question.

11. Your data & privacy

We only collect the data we need to run the service. We never sell your personal data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy at saveat.lu/privacy. By using SavEat you agree to our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

If we make important changes to these Terms, we'll let you know by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you continue using SavEat after that date, it means you're happy with the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of Luxembourg City.
